CATEGORY
When uploading these photo(s) you either selected the wrong categories or you neglected to select certain categories that should have been selected. Selecting the correct categories is very important, because many features of the Airliners.net search engines depend on it.

If this reason was the only one given in the rejection email, then please re-upload the photos, making sure you select the correct categories. If there have been other reasons also, please correct them before reuploading the photo with the correct categories selected.

If you are unsure which categories apply, please read the "Read Me" link next to each category button on the upload page. Note that several categories, such as special or hybrid colour schemes and classic aircraft, are ONLY for airliners and NOT for single engine props, helicopters.

You can read more about categories in our Aviation Photography forum at: http://www.airliners.net/discussions/aviation_photography/read.main/182898

Update (January 2007) concerning: New Definition Special Paint Categories and Left/Right Different Titles

Too many photos are rejected for wrong or neglected Categories.
Please note that the screeners can´t just push the right button, like you can on the upload page, but have to manually add the right categories by typing them in. Although corrections are done occasionally, they generally are just too time consuming.

- Airport overview:

Many Photographers are having difficulties in selecting the right categories for Airport Overviews. This is what the info on the upload page should look like, if there is no clearly identifiable aircraft in your photo:

The confirmation page will look like this:

And don´t forget to select “Airport overview”...

- DARK category:

"A photo shot at dawn, dusk or night time."
Meaning if the sun is not yet / not anymore visible (below the horizon) the shot can be classified in the "dark" category.
